COURSE STRUCTURE
Day 1: Low Back Pain Relief - This course follows the massage protocol "Medical Massage for Low Back Pain" and is presented on behalf of the Science of Massage Institute".
Lower Back Pain is a general name for many syndromes that contribute to this widespread pathology. In other words, it is a multifaced enemy. Clinical success depends on the ability of the therapist to correctly identify and target the initial triggers rather than secondary syndromes, which are frequently the most prominent.
During this course, we will cover the anatomy and pathology of the lumbar area, necessary evaluation and testing skills to develop correct treatment strategy for tension in the Lumbar Erectors, Quadratus Lumborum muscle, and rotators.
Day 2: Protocol for Piriformis Syndrome/Sciatica - This course follows the massage protocol "Medical Massage for Sciatica / Piriformis Outlet Syndrome" and is presented on behalf of the Science of Massage Institute.
The topic of the class is Piriformis Muscle, a.k.a. Key to The Lower Extremity. We will cover anatomy, physiology, pathology, and examination of the major causes of the tension in the piriformis muscle and its strategic relations with the Sciatic Nerve.
Next, we will discuss the detailed evaluation of the soft tissues in the gluteal area on a layer-by-layer basis. Finally, we will cover step-by-step Medical Massage Protocol to decompress skin, fascia, posterior cervical muscles, and periosteum in the lower back and gluteal area.
